On a glassy calm July evening, I was inside the cabin on Gambier Island, and ready to go to bed, when from halfway across the bay, I heard a pod or orcas coming towards me. 

Running to the deck with my phone in hand, I had the absolute pleasure of witnessing between 5-7 orcas, with a baby, come as close to the deck as I have ever seen. I felt as though I could have reached down and touched them. Seeing these magestic creatures simply never gets old! This piece is in honour of them, and that beautiful visit.
